Telematics

Telematics is the convergence of computing and wireless technologies, primarily within the transport sector. Data is sourced from GPS, CAN bus or sensors and wireless carrier provided by GPRS, WiFi or Satellite uplink.

Telematics design requires a substantial amount of technical expertise in a number of disciplines. As most Telematics solutions are integrated with the vehicle CAN bus, specific safety and legislative requirements need to be met. In addition Telematics systems must be able to operate effectively across a wide range of temperature, humidity, shock and vibration.
